The Department offers a four year B.Tech, UG degree course in Mechanical Engineering and a two year M.Tech, PG degree course in CAD / CAM. The course of B.Tech, in Mechanical Engineering was started in 1998-99, with an intake of 60. Subsequently the number of intake increased to 120 in the year 2007-08. The M.Tech., in I E & M course was started in the year 2004-05 with an intake of 18. Later in the year I E & M course was replaced by CAD / CAM. The first six batches of UG and two batches of PG have successfully completed their academic program and in the year 2006-07 about 60% of the students have been placed in various MNCs through campus interviews. The department is well established with excellent laboratory facility and competent Faculty & Staff. Licensed software is available and over and above the curriculum to train the students could certainly meet the requirements of the present industry.

The department is having adequate well furnished class rooms along with LCD projector facility that support latest content delivery methods. The department has ICT rooms for analyzing, solving of the numerical problems of various subjects. Facilities are also available for the presentations, Group Discussions and various association activities.

Institute Innovation Council: Dr. P. Divakara Rao has been nominated as a member of the Institute Innovation Council MHRD Govt. of India for the academic year 2018-19.
Elsevier journal Reviewer: Dr .P. Divakara Rao is a selected as Reviewer for the journal Elsevier (HELIYON).
