The Department offers a four year B.Tech, UG degree course in Mechanical Engineering and a two year M.Tech, PG degree course in Industrial Engineering & Management. The course of B.Tech, in Mechanical Engineering was started in 1998-99, with an intake of 60. Subsequently the number of intake increased to 120 in the year 2007-08. The M.Tech., in I E & M course was started in the year 2004-05 with an intake of 18. The first six batches of UG and two batches of PG have successfully completed their academic program and in the year 2006-07 about 60% of the students have been placed in various MNCs through campus interviews. The department is well established with excellent laboratory facility and competent Faculty & Staff. Licensed software is available and over and above the curriculum to train the students could certainly meet the requirements of the present industry.

Research and Development

Currently the staff is interested and involving in below mentioned projects which involves in R&D activities

  • Development and analysis of sandwiched bumper made from polyurethane/Glass/Hemp fiber impregnated polyester resin
  • Design and development of low cost tops for dual desks
  • Development and analysis of epoxy/glass fiber leaf spring for 4 wheeler-light vehicles


Achievements

Students:
  • Mechanical Students received the Student Scholarship Award. The awards were given at SAE STUDENT CONVENTIO event organized by CBIT & MGIT on 5th and 6th October 2012.
  • Team Vulcans design for effi-cycle got selected for the competitions to be held at Chandigarh during 14-16 Oct 2011.This is only the design selected from AP by Society of Automotive Engineers.

  • Ramya Sree M of II B.Tech Mechanical Engineering has bagged I prize for the paper presented titled “ Electronic Wedge System” in TIER-I conducted by SAE of JBIET conducted during the month of August 2010.
  • Sreekanth, Shanker and Vinod Kumar of II B.Tech Mechanical Engineering have bagged I prize in Aero Modelling Competition conducted in TIER-I conducted by SAE of JBIET conducted during the month of August 2010
  • Rahul, Vijaykanth, Suneesh and Chinna Venkat Reddy of  III B.Tech Machanical Engineering have bagged I prize in Pro-E Design Competition conducted in TIER-I conducted by SAE of JBIET conducted during the month of August 2010.
  • Ramya Sree  M of II B.Tech has presented a paper on “Electronic Wedge System” in TIER-II conducted by SAE of KITS Warangal.during the month of August 2010.
  • II BTech Mechanical engineering students have participated in the work shop“Under the Roof of cylinder Head”, organized by SAE INDIA and conducted at Sri Venkateshwara college of Engineering, Chennai, Tamilnadu during 23rd &24th September,2010,
  • III B.Tech Mechanical Engineering students have participated a work shop “Fabrication Techniques of BAJA Vehile” Conducted by Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Andheri(E), Mumbai during 25-26 Aug 2010.

  • Students of II B.Tech Mechanical Engineering have participated in SPORTS MEET organized and conducted by CBIT, Gandipet during 24-26 September 2010.
  • Mr.Nissi Edward has bagged I praise for the papper tittled "Graphene",in the paper presentation programme conducted as part of INFOQUEST 2010,held during 20-23,Oct,2010.
  • Praharsh/Sandeep has bagged 2ndpraise for the papper tittled "Cryogenics Low Temperature Technology",in the paper presentation programme organized and conducted by VJIT Hyd.

Seminars
  • Department of Mechanical engineering has conducted a seminar on final year projects on 21st Dec 2010
  • Dr.C.Udayakiran, has attended a 2 day workshop on “Introduction to Nano Science Nano Technology &Applications (INTA-2010)” organized by centre for Nano Science Nano Technology of JNTUCEH, kukatpally during 3rd & 4th,September,2010.
  • Mr.B.V.K.Murthy guided mechanical students of JBIET “Team VULCUNS” which participated in VIRTUAL BAJA SAEINDIA 2010-2011 competition held at India Habitat Centre,Delhi from 2nd-3rd July 2010.The team got selected in fabricating ATV in college premises and go to the competitions in BAJA-2011 going to held at Indoor,Pitambur.
